BIO

Angela Kaset lives in Cottontown, Tennessee, but to hear her songs you would think that she has lived all over the world. Her musical talents were revealed early in her childhood. She was playing piano and singing by age seven and authoring her school anthem at thirteen.

Since signing her first songwriting contract at age twenty, Angela has had songs recorded by established artists and has also developed material for her own singing career.

Angela's material conveys a strong sense of self and a commitment to report on a wide range of human issues. According to Angela, "There is a dark side - a night - for every day. But even in my darker material, I believe there is a ray of either hope or enlightenment."

The song that really brought Angela to Nashville's attention was the beautiful single, "Something In Red," recorded by Lorrie Morgan. Since then, Lorrie has recorded two more of Angela's ballads including a cut on the Girls Night Out CD and a song titled "Whoop-de-do" on Lorrie Morgan’s 2000 release of Greatest Hits 2. Suzy Bogguss recorded two extraordinary songs entitled, "Saying Goodbye To A Friend" and "Feelin’ ‘bout You." Angela also had Linda Davis’ last single "From The Inside Out." To start the millenium off right, she landed a cut on Jennifer Day’s debut release titled "What If It’s Me."

Angela has collaborated with many talented writers from Los Angeles (Steve Dorff, Wendy Waldman and Jeff Silbar) to Nashville (Don Schlitz, Gary Burr and Jon Vezner) to Romania. Angela traveled to Romania where she and nine other well-known writers were asked to be part of a songwriting and copyrighting seminar tour sponsored by the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI).

Angela's experiences as a performer are equally impressive. In June 1991, Angela traveled to Great Britain in support of her single, "Something In Red," which was released by Dover/Chrysalis Records. While in England, Angela performed live on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 2 and major television shows. Angela was also pleased to be recorded on RCA's songwriters' album released in 1992. Her Winter Harvest album, "Sanctuary," was released in January, 1997 with an independent follow-up album, "Inside Out," in 1999.

In October 1997, Angela was presented with the award for SESAC Country Songwriter of the Year, for her singles, "Daddy’s Little Girl" by Kippi Brannon and "The Hopechest Song" by Stephanie Bentley.

Angela is a frequently requested performer at local clubs, with a loyal and ever-increasing audience. Her soulful delivery, accompanied by her own unique piano stylings, can be partially attributed to her early days, singing in church. Weaving an intricate web of ballads and bittersweet story songs, Angela always gives a unique and spellbinding performance.
